The staff of Nationwide International have chosen Naseem’s Brain Tumour Charity as their chosen charity for the year 2014. The announcement was made today at the companys offices in Douglas.
 
Each year the staff of the company hold a number of fund raising events, and donate all the proceeds to their chosen good cause. 
 
Although the organisation is relatively unknown, the Nationwide International staff voted overwhelmingly to nominate Naseems Brain Tumour Charity and they hope it will help to raise the profile of the valuable work it does.
 
The charity is named in memory of Naseem Pishvaie who battled for years against a brain tumour and worked hard to set up the charity which is aimed to make a difference to the lives of sufferers.
 
Geri Pishvaie, one of the charitys trustees, said Naseem was always beautiful and remarkable, but the depth of her beauty was never more apparent than in the courage with which she faced her illness.
 
The charity named in her memory was created on October 14th 2009, sadly the same day that Naseem lost her battle with brain cancer.
 
Seamus Byrne, head of sales and marketing for Nationwide International, said, This charity does a fantastic job offering support and advice to Isle of Man families affected by brain tumours, and we are delighted to help in any we can to raise funds to support them.
 
Nationwide International staff have donated considerable amounts to local charities over a number of years, and are renowned for their participation in events, their imagination in organising lots of different fund raising ideas, and for their generosity.
 
The staff also encourage customers to donate, and have collection boxes and information leaflets in their offices in St Georges Street, Douglas.
 
Geri Pishvaie said, Leading up to our 5th anniversary, its lovely that Nationwide International have recognsied the charity in what is a very special year for us.
 
We are currently thinking of a way to mark the anniversary later this year, and we are looking forward to the support so generously offered by the Nationwide International staff.
