Silt issues at Peel are being dealt with says Commodore

by isleofman.com 9th May 2014
A local boat owner says that silting is becoming so bad at Peel Marina that some yachts are sitting on their keels.
Richard Bedford also claims some yachts have had to be moved out of their berths and marina staff have had to warn visiting yacht owners that the marina may dry out at low tide even though the flap is up.
Mr Bedford has made his complaints known to the authorities and other interested parties and adds the situation could have been avoided if the problem of silting had been addressed more effectively.
But the Commodore of Peel yacht club, Andrew Hall, says whilst some vessels may be getting stuck in silt at low tide, he believes the Ports Authorities are dealing with the issue .
