Tholt-y-Will death: inquest opens

A woman who died after being struck by a car died from blunt force chest injuries, an inquest’s heard this afternoon.

62 year old Gwen Valentine from Winchester was visiting family on the Island when the crash happened on the Tholt-y-Will Road on 26 April.

Coroner John Needham opened the inquest and adjourned proceedings to a date to be fixed.

He told the hearing at Douglas Courthouse a criminal investigation is underway.
