Expert tells Island it must decide what to do about climate change

by isleofman.com 11th May 2014
Climate change is happening now - and we have to decide how much we're prepared to do about it.
That's the view of a world expert on climate change who will give a talk on the Island next week.
Thomas Stocker is professor of Climate and Environmental Physics at the University of Bern's Physics Institute in Switzerland and is widely regarded as a world expert in the science of climate change.
He also co-chairs "Working Group 1:The Physical Science Basis" of the Intergovermental Panel on Climate Change or IPCC.
He says there can no longer be any doubt that man's activity on earth has sparked significant changes in global weather patterns . . .
B/A:
Environment Minister Phil Gawne says he hopes the talk will heighten awareness of what he calls a "hugely important issue"
Professor Stocker's talk is at the Manx Museum on Tuesday 13th May at 6.15pm. Tickets are free but places are limited. To book you can email stating the number of seats you require.
