Tram horse died after suffering stroke

by isleofman.com 14th May 2014
Douglas Corporation has confirmed a tram horse died yesterday (Tues) after suffering a stroke close to the stables.
Albert, who was reportedly fit and healthy and a week away from his 17th birthday, had to be taken back to the stables on a trolley.
A post mortem is being carried out on the animal today.
All the tram horses are checked regularly by a vet, who knows the animals well.
Tramways supervisor, Michael Crellin says in his 41 years of experience, this is the only case he knows of where a horse has died while pulling a tram.
The horse trams are operating again as normal today
