Peel RNLI loses one of its best supporters

by isleofman.com 15th May 2014
Peel RNLI lifeboat has lost one of its strongest volunteers and supporters.
Chris Wilkinson died on Monday morning after being unwell for several weeks.
Mr Wilkinson only recently retired as Deputy Launch Authority a post he held for thirteen years, during which time he was also station admin officer for seven years.
Lifeboat Operations Manager, Allen Corlett, says its been a privilege for the Peel Station branch to have had someone with such commitment, drive, inability to shirk responsibility, and a willingness to spend long hours in the boathouse awaiting the return of “Ruby Clery”.
He adds that Chris was truly "a rock” and everyone at Peel station sends heartfelt sympathy to Chris’s wife Hilary and the rest of the family.
