Chief Minister faces cannabis questions

by isleofman.com 16th May 2014
Chief Minister Allan Bell will be quizzed about his recent comments on cannabis in Tynwald next week.

He’ll face a question for written answer from Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan about his apparent support for decriminalising cannabis.

In particular, the Garff MHK wants to know what the rationale is behind the comments, and whether they represent a policy from the Council of Ministers.

Earlier this week, a Liberal Democrat think tank in the UK named Mr Bell its “Liberal Hero of the Week” as it praised what it called his evidence-based policymaking.
