Baton continues journey

by isleofman.com 17th May 2014
The Queen’s baton continues its weekend on the Isle of Man today – after securing huge publicity for the Island last night.

Today, it’s at the opening of the Manx Youth Games at the National Sports Centre, before stopping at the Post Office in Regent Street and the Manx Telecom shop in Strand Street.

This afternoon, it’ll travel to Laxey by tram and go to Laxey Wheel.

Yesterday saw it in Castletown and Douglas before appearing live on the BBC One Show which was broadcast live from the Villa Marina.

Crowds gathered on Douglas promenade gave presenters Chris Evans and Alex Jones a huge Manx welcome: (play audio)

And there'll be live coverage here on Manx Radio throughout the day.Clip 1
