Robbery accused appears in court

A 38-year-old man charged with robbing a Douglas jewellers has been remanded in custody.
Michael Bergquist appeared in court on Saturday morning, accused of committing a robbery at RHS Jewellers on Prospect Hill eight days ago.
He did not enter a plea on the robbery charge, nor on an offence of taking a vehicle without consent, which it’s alleged he committed on May the ninth.
However, he did admit having no insurance and failing to meet the requirements of a provisional driving licence.
He will reappear in court on Tuesday.
