Man flown to UK hospital after alleged attack in Ballasalla

A man has been flown to hospital in the UK with serious head injuries after an incident in Ballasalla in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday).
An area of Clagh Vane was closed off yesterday afternoon while police continue to piece together what happened.
The incident – described as a street disturbance - happened at around 2.30am following a party in a nearby house.
A local man has been arrested and has been held at police headquarters overnight.
Detective Inspector Mark Newey, who is leading the investigation, says police know there were a number of people in the street which was noisy at the time.
The road in Clagh Vane is in the shape of a horseshoe and the incident took place on the left hand side of that horseshoe near the bottom junction.
