Guinness world record attempt

by isleofman.com 20th May 2014

Manx voluntary organisation Beach Buddies has joined forces with Ramsey Grammar School to stage what is hoped will be the biggest beach clean in the world next month.

One thousand volunteers are to join in a world record attempt on Friday June 27 on Ramsey beach.

Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale said: 'We are giving as much notice as possible for this event, in order to ensure that we achieve the 1,000 target, which we believe will easily beat the single biggest beach cleaning event ever held. Guinness Book of Records is being informed of the attempt.'

Students, teachers, parents, Beach Buddies' volunteers and anyone who wants to join in should meet at the beach at the north end of the town at 9am for a 'beach blitz' from the new swimming pool building up towards Cranstal.
