Resignation of Ms Lorna MacKellar

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2014

At the meeting of Port Erin Commissioners on Tuesday 20 May, a letter was read from Ms Lorna MacKellar notifying the Board of her resignation as an elected member to Port Erin Commissioners.

Chairman, Ged Power has made the following statement:
On behalf of Port Erin Commissioners, I wish to thank Lorna MacKellar for her hard work, determination and dedication whilst serving as an elected representative for the Village. I regarded Lorna as a valued member of the board who had great skills in understanding governance and key decision making. During her time with the Board, Lorna devoted a vast amount of time and energy to the role and much of this was behind the scenes.

I am sorry that personal circumstances have led to her resignation and we wish her and her family well in the future.

The forthcoming by election on 26th June 2014 gives a great opportunity for somebody to become part of the Board of Commissioners and I welcome candidates with vision and energy who have the drive to take Port Erin forward with a great team alongside them.
