Peel RNLI lifeboat launched to assist yacht

Peel lifeboat with its volunteer crew was launched last night (29th May) at 10pm. to go to the assistance of the yacht Cruachan which was in difficulty 20 miles west off Peel.

The yacht with two persons on board had multiple gear failure on passage from Portaferry to Peel. In fine weather Portaferry lifeboat first found the yacht which was taken in tow by Peel lifeboat and  safely docked in Peel harbour at 1 15am. Coxswain on the “Ruby Clery” was John Hunter assisted by 2nd. Coxswain/Mechanic Paul Cain and the rest of the RNLI volunteer
