Rush hour warning

by isleofman.com 2nd June 2014

People are being encouraged to car share later today, when roads open briefly between TT races.

Today's Supersport race was delayed by several hours because of weather conditions, finally getting under way at 2pm. The bikes will be back out this evening for the Superstock event that should have taken place this afternoon.

Roads are open between 5pm and 6pm with police predicting a busy rush hour around Douglas. Extra officers will be on duty, manually operating traffic lights at the busiest junctions. Police are encouraging car sharing and warning people to expect their journeys to take longer than usual.

The mountain section of the TT course will remain closed.

Gary Johnson won this afternoon's race with a nailbiting finish, beating Bruce Anstey by just 1.5 seconds, with Michael Dunlop in third place.
