The Island's Neonatal Unit is not affected by drip associated infections

by isleofman.com 5th June 2014

There are no problems at the Isle of Man's Neonatal Unit relating to drip associated infections.
Public Health England has issued an alert after a contaminated batch of a food supplement was sent to 22 different hospitals.
It has been linked to the death of one baby at a hospital and the illness of 17 others.
It is drips from only one manufacturer that have been implicated and the contamination seems to have occurred on a single day.
The Island's Special Care baby unit gets such drip feeds from a different supplier.
The Island's Department of Health is reassuring members of the public that there have been no such cases locally.
