Snaefell Summit to celebrate summer solstice

by isleofman.com 12th June 2014

Plans to celebrate the summer solstice at Snaefell Summit Restaurant are proving popular.

Anyone wanting to take a tram to the Island’s highest point for the event on Saturday 21 June is urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets, priced ?39 per person including tram travel from Laxey or Douglas, can be purchased by phoning 01624 673631 or via email summitcateringltd@gmail.com.

This first-time event on the mountain will treat solstice celebrants to a hunter gatherer buffet feast and entertainment provided by the Vikings of Mann, including a torchlight procession, beacon lighting and celebratory singing at the summit.

The festivities start with a scenic tram ride departing Douglas at 17:40 and Laxey at 18:10.
