Three island residents have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Tim Cullen has been awarded an MBE for services to international financial management. Mr Cullen spent 21 years with the World Bank and has been a commissioner on the Financial Supervision Commission since 2001. He created the Small Countries Financial Management Centre in the Isle of Man in 2009 that has brought international recognition to the island.

Pamela Shimwell-Mayo has also received an MBE. She is well known for her voluntary work and was a founding member of the Parkinson's Disease Society which she has chaired since 1989, identifying an unmet need and now providing services and facilities for around 200 local sufferers, their families and carers.

Judy Arnold has been awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM). A volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care for over 25 years, she has worked widely in the community to help with the understanding of bereavement. She's also involved with tourism and was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce's tourism committee for a number of years and was involved with the Peel Traders' Association for many years.
