Fundraiser tackles Snaefell

by isleofman.com 16th June 2014
A woman campaigning to change a law for victims of domestic abuse head reached the top of Snaefell as part of a major fundraising effort.

Eve Thomas suffered domestic abuse for over 21 years which has severely affected her physical health.

She successfully campaigned to keep the address of her safehouse private in court, something now commonly known as "Eve's Law".

It is proposed this will lead on to the creation of an "Eve's Marker", registered on central database to highlight that the personal information of an abuse victim is confidential and highly sensitive.

Eve is on the Island as part of her Mountain Lakes and Miles Challenge to raise money for Refuge a charity which has supported her over the years.
