New Hospice drop-in facilities offered

by isleofman.com 17th June 2014
The Hospice is offering more drop-in facilities for those affected by life limiting conditions.
The first drop-in day at the Scholl Centre was held in July.
A regular satellite service will now start on Wednesday, June 18th at Ramsey Town Hall from 10.30am to 6.30pm
Organisers say this will allow people affected by life-limiting illnesses to get specialist and timely information and support about benefits and carer support as well as advice and a chance to try complementary therapy or join creative workshops.
There will also be a second drop-in day at the Scholl Centre Hospice starting from 3rd July which will concentrate on living with and beyond cancer, and from September there will also be a six-week programme – open to all cancer patients.
This course, ‘Moving Forward’ focuses on giving people the information, skills and strategies to manage their own condition over the long term.
Further details on either service can be obtained from Hospice’s day unit manager, Wendy Smith, on 647400.
