Tardy Choughs mean no climbing for now

by isleofman.com 19th June 2014

Manx National Heritage says the Chasms will stay closed to climbers until at least July 14 this year.

The organisation says Choughs which nest on the cliffs have done so late this year, meaning the protected birds can’t be disturbed.

The Sugar Loaf and the Anvil will be closed until July 31.

MNH says it has a duty to protect the birds on its land, and it’s an offence under the Wildlife Act 1990 to disturb the birds, their nests or their young.
