Parking charges would be a savage blow for retailers

Parking charges in the capital will undoubtedly lead to a drop in trade.
So says the manager of a retail centre in the town.
A consultation was launched by infrastructure chiefs this week as it bids to find ?5 million-worth of savings.
John Shakespeare from the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas hopes proposals to charge for on-street parking is not a fait accompli for Infrastructure Minister Laurence Skelly.Clip 1
