No new parking charges, says shopping centre manager

The manager of a Douglas shopping centre is warning additional on-street parking charges in the capital would lead to trade trouble.
John Shakespeare from the Strand Shopping Centre is responding to the Department of Infrastructure’s bid to find ?5-million pounds worth of savings.
One of the ideas is to introduce parking charges; it’s one of the things the public is currently being consulted on.
But Mr Shakespeare says charging at two town centre car parks on a Sunday, when it used to be free, has already caused problems.Clip 1
