by isleofman.com 25th June 2014
Following hot on the heels of Spooks: The Greater Good, Isle of Man Film have confirmed that kidnapping thriller TAKE DOWN is filming on the Island.

TAKE DOWN will star Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl, J. Edgar) Jeremy Sumpter (Into The Storm, Friday Night Lights), Phoebe Tonkin (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals) and rising star Dominic Sherwood (Not Fade Away, BBC’s The Cut).

Directed by Jim Gillespie (I Know What You Did Last Summer) and written by Alexander Ignon (Ransom), TAKE DOWN is a Pinewood Pictures production. Sarah Ryan Black (Restoration) and Ed Elbert (Anna and the King) are producing. Steve Christian (Belle), Stefan Brunner (Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengance) and Jamie Brown (Belly Of The Beast) are executive producers.

Principal photography began on location in Wales from 2nd June 2014, moving to the Isle of Man from 25th June 2014.

TAKE DOWN is an action packed thriller that takes place on a remote island.  A group of reckless sons and daughters of international billionaires are sent to an exclusive, tough-love boot camp to learn basic survival skills in the hope it will teach them to take responsibility for their lives. When they are taken hostage and held for a billion dollar ransom by a group of sophisticated kidnappers, the captives are forced to use their limited wilderness training to survive.

Isle of Man Film’s Mike Reaney said:

“TAKE DOWN is a very exciting project for us, with a strong production team and a fantastic young cast. As an outdoor thriller, TAKE DOWN makes good use of our many coastal and woodland locations. Isle of Man scenery will feature heavily throughout the film.”
