Peel regeneration plans on display

by isleofman.com 26th June 2014
Plans to refurbish Market Square in Peel are on display to the public today.
Officials from the project will also be on hand to answer questions about the proposals.
They're on display at the commissioners' offices between midday and 7pm.
It's proposed to make Market Square more pedestrian friendly, creating a public area which would also be suitable for events.
That would mean reducing the amount of parking available in the area, though.
The plans have been overseen by the Peel Regeneration Committee.
It's chairman, Peel MHK Tim Crookall, says the area is surrounded by attractive buildings, but currently does little to welcome people, or provide places for them to stop and enjoy the setting.
