Outgoing Sefton Group chairman signals bright future for company

Government support for the Sefton Group has helped secure an optimistic future for the company - and the 340 people who work for it.
That verdict from outgoing chairman Sir Miles Walker, who stood down at the group's AGM yesterday (25 June) after announcing a dramatic turnaround in the company's fortunes.
An 'exceptional' profit of ?10.3 million has been declared for the last financial year, mainly due to cash injections to wipe out debt as the company restructured.
Trading showed an underlying profitability of around ?236,000.
Sir Miles says now the deficit's been reversed the company is looking at redeveloping facilities at the Palace Hotel.
He says retaining the option to buy-back the Middlemarch site has been pivotal to their future plans:
