Members of the public will get the chance to board a Royal Navy warship next week.

HMS Brocklesby will arrive in Douglas on Tuesday July 1 for a five day visit. She will be open to the public from 10am to 1pm from July 2-4, with the opportunity to go aboard, learn more about career opportunities in the Royal Navy and get a glimpse of life on a warship.

Commanding Officer, Lt Cdr John Comrie said: "It's always a privilege to be able to showcase the Royal Navy around the UK. Over the course of the week we will open our ship to the public on three separate days to give the people of the Isle of Man an opportunity to see what we can do.'

HMS Brocklesby recently returned from an operational deployment in the Mediterranean where she worked as part of a multinational mine counter-measures task force. Ships from allied nations work together throughout the year defending sea routes from the threat of underwater mines.
