FOI response 'disappointing' says Chief Minister

by isleofman.com 28th June 2014
The public’s response to a consultation on freedom of information legislation has been ‘disappointing’.
So says the Chief Minister after it was revealed government received only 34 replies - 26 from groups and eight from individuals.
Allan Bell says given the significance of the legislation, the number of responses could be seen as disappointingly small.
Freedom of Information was introduced in the UK in 2005 and, if passed here, would strengthen the public's rights to access Manx government and local authority files.
