Southern 100 course clean up

by isleofman.com 30th June 2014

Beach Buddies will once again have a clean-up around the Southern 100 course on Wednesday afternoon and are looking for volunteers to join in.

This will be the fourth occasion on which the Beach Buddies volunteers have conducted a collection of litter on the course prior to the Pre-TT meeting and the Southern 100 itself.

The original idea was created by well known Castletown residents and lifelong friends Ron Ronan and David Wilkinson, who will once more be involved on Wednesday.

Beach Buddies will provide all the necessary equipment - litter pickers, gloves, hi vis jackets and bin bags (supplied by WDS Ltd, SITA and DoI) and will be using the Sandy Bairstow trailer to collect the rubbish afterwards and recycle as much of the material as possible.

The cleaning session starts at 2pm and volunteers will be divided into groups to tackle a short section for no more than 1 hour. The meeting point is the car park at the Southern 100 headquarters on the Castletown By-Pass.
