Warning over leaving dogs in cars

With a prolonged spell of warmer weather, there's a warning about the dangers of leaving dogs in hot cars.

In the UK, despite extensive campaigns, the RSPCA gets around six-thousand calls a year from people worried about animals they see trapped in vehicles.

Under animal welfare laws, it can lead to prosecution if a dog suffers or dies as a result of being left.

Vet Karl Bovenizer, from the Arg Beiyn practice, says there are thankfully very few cases over here.

But he adds it's one of the most dangerous things you can do.Clip 1
