Promenade roadworks disruption minimised

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2014
Disruption to road users would be kept to a minimum during phase two of the Douglas promenade regeneration scheme.

That from the Department of Infrastructure, which will later this month ask Tynwald to approve ?1.36 million-worth of funding for the project.

This time, the focus will be from the Bottleneck car park to where the prom meets Regent Street.

The plan is to narrow the road, remove the double horse tram tracks and create a space for a single track to run alongside the wall of the marine gardens.

The road surface, pavements, kerbs and the like will also be redone.
