Tour de France bunting in honour of local cycling stars Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh is being unveiled today.
Manx quilters joined in the knitting frenzy to make Le Tour bunting with a difference, displaying the Three Legs emblem.
The first stage of the event is this Saturday from Leeds to Harrogate, with cyclists covering a distance of 190.5 km. Manx quilter Judy Noakes spotted the Le Tour de Bunting pattern on a trip to Harrogate and decided a Manx version should be created.
She said: 'We thought it would be a fantastic winter project for the ladies and Le Tour bunting began to take shape. When the Stage One finish hits Harrogate it presents a triple whammy for the Isle of Man’s sprinter Mark Cavendish. July 5th is the Isle of Man’s National Day, Mark’s mother, Adele, hails from Harrogate and to top it all he will have Le Tour de Bunting with the three legs on.'
