Airport authorities say the security alerts sparked by al-Qaida will not have an impact on flights to and from the Isle of Man.
Airport security has been stepped up across Britain over bomb plot fears, with a bomb maker reportedly working on plastics-based devices that avoid detection. Terrorists are said to be targeting flights to America. The heightened security is expected to lead to long queues at UK airports and a backlog of flights to the States.
Ronaldsway airport director Ann Reynolds said that, as the alert focused on flights to America, security measures at Ronaldsway would not be affected.
