Chief Minister defends senior government ministers in NI report

by isleofman.com 8th July 2014
The Chief Minister has jumped to the defence of two of his senior government ministers who have come under fire in an official report.
Chris Robertshaw and Eddie Teare are among those accused by Tynwald’s public accounts committee of acting ‘fast and loose’ over financial regulations.
The words were used as it investigated whether government had the authority to take three quarters of million pounds from reserves to pay for consultants reviewing the National Insurance Fund.
Allan Bell has promised a full government response to the latest report and insists ministers have not recklessly or deliberately flouted regulations.
