Minister's concerns over claims about Countryside Care scheme

by isleofman.com 9th July 2014
The new Minister in charge of Agriculture says he is concerned about a petition for redress of grievance which claims agricultural production under the Countryside Care scheme is dropping considerably.
Maughold Farmer David Moore, who handed in the petition during the Tynwald ceremony on Monday, says it's because the scheme makes it more profitable for them to produce less.
Richard Ronan will lay the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture’s Response to The Countryside Care Scheme before the court this month. It's due to be debated in October.
Mr Ronan says if what Mr Moore claims is true, it would be something he would have to address
