One of the Island's best-known charities Age Isle of Man has a new figurehead.
Helen Southworth has been appointed chief executive of the organisation to succeed George Quayle who is retiring.
Mrs Southworth served in Labour governments as MP for Warrington South for three terms until 2010.
She has spent many years in the voluntary sector, and was CEO of Age Concern in St Helen's for 10 years before being elected.
