Manx Youth Band & Manx Concert Brass Annual Gala Concert

by isleofman.com 10th July 2014
Manx Youth Band & Manx Concert Brass return to their usual summer slot for this year’s Gala Concert, which will be on Saturday 12th July in the Villa Marina Royal Hall.

This year’s concert is an “Island Of Culture” event and will mark the 30th anniversary of two important milestones in the bands’ history.

Firstly, the Manx Youth Band recorded their original LP in 1984, “Manx Youth” and the concert will feature some of the tracks from this recoding.

Secondly, it is also 30 years since Derek Broadbent first visited the island and worked with the band, a relationship that has continued during that time.

The bands are pleased to welcome Derek back to the island as guest conductor for this year’s concert.

In addition to some exciting news about the plans for the Manx Youth Band over the next twelve months, the bands also hope to be joined by one or two “surprise” singers to help entertain you on the night.

The concert gets underway at 7:30pm and tickets are available from the Villa Marina Box Office (01624) 600555 or online at https://cfvg.gov.im.

Tickets are priced at ?12.50 Adults, ?10.00 Senior & ?5.00 Under 16's
