Charity's new CEO to challenge age prejudice

by isleofman.com 14th July 2014
The new head of Island charity Age Isle of Man says she will campaign to end prejudice against elderly people.
Former Labour MP Helen Southworth will take over as chief executive today (Monday) when George Quayle steps down after four years in the role.
Mrs Southworth says meeting the needs of a rapidly ageing society will be a major challenge in the years ahead.
She says older people have contributed a great deal, many have much still to offer - so the group must not be seen as a burden.
Mrs Southworth is determined the charity will continue to give elderly people a voice:Clip 1
