Chief minister happy with AG advice on NI review

by isleofman.com 15th July 2014
There's no conflict of interest regarding the acting Attorney General giving his legal opinion about the social security and national insurance review.
Chief Minister Allan Bell has told Tynwald he will not be seeking any other independent advice on the issue of appointing Ci65 Limited as consultants for the second phase of the review.
The matter was raised in a question by South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft, who wanted to see government seek outside advice as they did with relation to the Sefton loans.
Mr Bell said the attorney general's chambers were there to give advice on legal matters and in this case the acting AG was not in way conflicted as he had been with the Sefton issue.
He denied he was attempting to hide anything:Clip 1
