Review promised over scrapping of promenade cycle lane

The removal of the cycle lane on Douglas Promenade is going to be reviewed over the next 12 months.
Department of Infrastructure member John Houghton told Tynwald it was intended to create a mixed recreational area.
He said there had been 144 responses to a consultation on the matter, and 70 per cent had agreed to the prom becoming a shared space.
It means the prom is now open side-to-side for all users, from walkers and parents with pushchairs to skaters and cyclists.
Mr Houghton dismissed suggestions there was an increased risk of legal action if anyone's hurt:
