Charity Sky Dive raises over ?1,400

by isleofman.com 17th July 2014

MBS are proud sponsors of the recent Charity Sky Dive undertaken on the 31st May at Jurby, Isle of Man by Jimmy McGuire and Leanne Kelly from the Bernard Schulte Ship Management company.

Jimmy had wanted to undertake a parachute jump for many years. When the Lancaster based “Black Knights” advertised an island visit earlier this year, it presented an opportunity he could not resist. It also presented an opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research UK & The Firefighters Charity; two charities that are close to Jimmy’s heart.

Shortly after making his decision, a work colleague Leanne flagged that she also wanted in on the action and selected the Multiple System Atrophy Trust as her chosen charity.

The jump was, to quote Jimmy “..a phenomenal experience”, ”..it was an unbelievably clear day, and to sit with your legs dangling out of a plane at 15,000 feet was a strange feeling”. Surprisingly Jimmy claims he experienced no nerves or vertigo throughout the jump.

So far Jimmy and Leanne have raised over ?1,400 which will be split equally amongst the selected charities.
