Fire Services called to report of trapped horse

by isleofman.com 18th July 2014
This morning fire crews responded to the report of a trapped and distressed horse at an equestrian centre.

The horse had become trapped between a fence and a hedge; after liaising with the attending Vet at the scene, a plan was agreed and implemented resulting in the swift and safely managed recovery of the horse to staff at the centre. Crews used a tirfor, slings and various hand tools to affect the rescue.

Fire crews remained in attendance for approximately one hour to make sure the horse was safe, generally assisting the Vet and staff from the centre.

No further information on the condition of the horse is known at this time.
