Local business using crowdfunding to expand

by isleofman.com 22nd July 2014
A local business woman is looking to the Manx public for support as she hopes to expand her company.
Alex Kennedy started Doggielicious in 2011, making homemade dog treats from local products without additives, preservatives or added salt.
And she’s now using crowdfunding website Indiegogo to hopefully raise ?30,000 for much needed new premises, a commercial kitchen and to hire staff.
The online method of fundraising allows business owners to attract direct funding for all sorts of projects – from films and games to design and technology.
Alex says it’s also a way of involving the local community:Clip 1
