A former tourist attraction is being offered for sale through UK-based commercial property firm GVA.
Offers are being invited for the freehold of the Port Soderick Hotel and surrounding land abutting the government-owned glen. It's being advertised by GVA as a 'unique coastal development opportunity' with potential for leisure, commercial and residential uses subject to planning.
GVA says there are no specific planning designations and adds: 'We understand the adjacent Glen is under consideration for outdoor pursuits and as the area attracts walkers and other leisure users the Planning Authority are keen for the property to be brought back into use and add to the amenity value of the locality.'
In its heyday, Port Soderick was a popular tourist attraction, featuring an amusement arcade, pool and a funicular railway. It fell into dereliction many years ago.
