Additional bus for rescheduled Manannan passengers

by isleofman.com 23rd July 2014
Bus Vannin is laying on an additional bus to assist passengers arriving from Liverpool on the rescheduled Isle of Man Steam Packet vessel Manannan.

A special service 11 bus will commence on Monday (28 July 2014). It will depart from stand F on the promenade near Regent Street at 2330 Mondays to Saturdays, serving Douglas and Onchan. The route goes along Douglas promenade to Port Jack, Manx Arms, Birch Hill, Governor’s Hill, Willaston and Buck’s Road.

The 2330 departure will continue until Manannan is back up to full speed again. The vessel is operating on reduced power after suffering a mechanical issue with one of her four engines.

The Steam Packet Company has announced it plans to repair the vessel after the busy summer period. However, it means each journey time is currently around 20 minutes longer depending on tidal conditions, and the evening return journey from Liverpool to Douglas is now scheduled to dock around 2305.

In addition to the daily 2330 service 11, regular night bus services operate on Friday and Saturday evenings at 0015 to Ramsey, Peel and Port Erin.
