Southern show marks centenary

by isleofman.com 25th July 2014
Now in its hundredth year, the Southern Agricultural show takes place this weekend.

It’s an important anniversary for the staple of the Manx calendar, and will once again be held in Great Meadow in Castletown.

The programme includes the usual judging day on Saturday, when the supreme champion will be chosen from the best cattle, sheep and horse sections.

And a more family orientated day is planned for Sunday.

Kate Holland asked Roy Kermeen, one of this year’s presidents, why he thinks the show’s still popular one century after it began: Clip 1
