Changes to justice system on the way

The Island’s Home Affairs Minister says huge changes are being planned to the Manx criminal justice system.

Proposals include introducing a new Victims Code, and cross-examining vulnerable or young witnesses outside the courtroom.

Juan Watterson MHK says the plans are part of a larger project to make the courts quicker and more cost-efficient.

He says there are also concerns about the trauma some witnesses suffer when appearing in a trial:Clip 1
