Parks section blazes a trail this summer

by isleofman.com 28th July 2014

Douglas Borough Council’s parks section is blazing a trail through the town this summer.

The team from Ballaughton Nursery have devised a floral trail competition based on the seven wicker sculptural displays, each referencing some aspect of business activity in the town, they have installed around Douglas.

To enter the free prize draw, find all seven sculptures which have been individually named and sponsored, then scan the QR code on each and follow the instructions. Those without a smart device can either email the sculptures’ names and sponsors to trail@douglas.gov.im or write to Douglas Borough Council, Parks Section, Ballaughton Nursery, Douglas, IM2 1JJ, including name, address and telephone number.

Chair of the regeneration and community advisory committee Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘This competition brings together the expertise of both our talented Parks Section and the ICT team to offer something a little different; the opportunity to discover some outstanding floral displays that are not only witty but also make outstandingly creative use of some of the many hundreds of bedding plants produced from seed at Ballaughton Nursery. I wish everyone who enters good luck.’

Entries close September 8th 2014. Competition prizes have been provided by the sponsors.
