It will be one hundred years since the outbreak of World War One on Monday (August 4) and one of the events planned to mark the occasion will be a veterans' parade, culminating in the casting of a wreath into the Irish Sea.
Veterans will march with cadets, Manx Legion and Royal British Legion members and other associations, led by a band, to Victoria Pier where the captain of the Ben-my-Chree will accept a wreath.
A Manx Legion spokesman said: 'The captain will cast the wreath into the sea after leaving port, commemorating all those who served in the Army, Navy, Merchant Navy and Air Force in World War One.'
The parade will start outside the Manx Legion Club at 7.15pm. Afterwards, there will be entertainment and refreshments at the club.
