Ashgrove Marketing’s competition for creative amateurs, Createurs, has been opened up to everyone aged 16 years or older. Previously the competition age requirement was 18 or over but Moya Wilson, Senior Account Manager at Ashgrove Marketing says there is real talent among the Island’s 16 – 17 year olds as well:
“We have been really impressed with the students we have had on work placement this year and this has prompted our decision to also open the competition up to the 16 – 18 age group. The deadline for the competition is 22nd August. So, if you are a talented photographer, writer, designer or artist, now is your chance to shine, with 4 different categories: Graphic Design, Copywriting, Web & Multimedia and Photography to choose from.”
The competition is being sponsored by Sure (Best Entry), Affinity (Photography and Graphic Design), Search & Select (People’s Choice), Gough Law (Copywriting) and Conister Bank (Web & Multimedia). All the category winners will enjoy cash prizes to the value of ?300. In addition, ‘Best Entry’ and ‘The People’s Choice’ award winners will receive ?400 and enjoy additional publication of their work. Ashgrove will be holding a prize giving party for all entrants on 11th September, where the winners will be announced.
Those entering the competition will be supported with a one-to-one tutorial session with Ashgrove’s Brand Strategist, Graeme Brooks. Graeme will give advice on which categories to enter, how to write a creative rationale and tips on turning your creative skills into an effective marketing campaign.
Creative projects must be entirely original and accompanied by a creative rationale which explains the thought process behind the submission.
Chosen brands can range from local Manx businesses and charities to international brands or an entirely made up company.
