Sporting community pays tribute to Kate Burge

by isleofman.com 6th August 2014
The Island's sporting community has been paying tribute to a popular member, who died in a crash on Monday evening.
Forty-one-year-old Kate Burge was out cycling with friends, when she was involved in a collision with a Range Rover in Kirk Michael.
She died at the scene.
Kate was a physio at the Department of Health and Social Care, and was well known in the cycling and fell running communities.
The Manx Athletics website has posted a number of pictures of Kate, with a tribute written below them by Manx Fell Runners chairman Richie Stevenson.
He says her death has stunned the Island's close-knit fell running community, and describes Kate a talented athlete who was also a very pleasant and likeable person.
Dave Griffiths, who writes articles on local athletics, and is well-known on the scene, says she was an excellent athlete and a truly lovely person who had time and a smile for everyone.
Both also passed on their condolences to her family and friends.
